Living in a State of Global Tension
Many of us wake up with a tightness in our chest, a sense of looming danger we can’t quite name.
Things that once felt stable now feel shaky, and even if nothing “bad” has happened yet, the fear still lingers.
I want you to feel strong.
I want you to hold your head high.
But I also know some of you are just trying to breathe. Uncertainty can pull us into survival mode, whether the threat is real or not. Our bodies respond long before our minds make sense of it.
For trauma survivors, this kind of climate can reawaken dread, helplessness, and old wounds.
Shutting down.
Going numb.
Being on edge.
Feeling disconnected.
If you’re feeling anxious, tense, or emotionally distant? You’re not broken. These aren’t flaws but instead they’re your body’s way of saying, “I’m overwhelmed.”
If that’s where you are today, I invite you to slow down.
Breathe.
Journal.
Go for a walk.
Rest.
Disconnect from the chaos for a moment so you can reconnect with yourself.
None of us has all the answers and that’s okay. We are all stumbling down the same path. What you’re feeling is real.
And you’re not alone.
