Finding Closure
What does it mean to “find closure?”
Is it forgiveness? Peace? An absence of pain? We’ve been told that closure = forgiveness. That once we forgive, we’re supposed to “move on.”
But closure looks different for everyone. For some, forgiveness becomes a powerful part of healing.
For others, survival doesn’t include forgiveness and that truth is valid. Healing isn’t about following a script. It’s not about meeting anyone else’s expectations or timeline. The way you carry your truth is yours. You don’t owe anyone your peace just to make them comfortable. You’re allowed to ask for help while you figure out what closure means for you. And shame has no place in that process.
